Meet Michael Welsh, MD

Michael Welsh, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician at White River Family Care, LLC in Buckley, Washington. He has more than 30 years of experience providing compassionate, comprehensive care to patients in Buckley, Washington.

Dr. Welsh earned his medical degree from the University of Missouri–Kansas City and completed a general surgery internship before beginning his career in primary care. He also holds an undergraduate degree in Biology. Over the past three decades, Dr. Welsh has built a trusted reputation as a primary care provider, helping individuals and families manage both acute and chronic health concerns.

His diverse medical background includes several years in emergency medicine and a strong focus on sports medicine. He has served as a team physician for high school and college athletic programs in both the Midwest and the Pacific Northwest and has previously held memberships in the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.

Dr. Welsh values the opportunity family medicine provides to care for the whole person—addressing immediate medical needs while supporting long-term physical and mental well-being. Outside of medicine, he enjoys reading, hiking, golfing, landscaping, and traveling with his wife of 40 years to visit their four children.
